Also, the students will create large projects to apply the skills we will learn throughout the semester.
DOWNLOADING ADOBE SOFTWARE AT HOME
Adobe Creative Cloud software is required in order to participate in this course and is available to download and use outside of the school’s computer lab. In order to download and begin using the software, please take the following steps (detailed directions are located in Google Classroom Stream):
LEARNING PROCEDURES:
CERTIFICATION TESTING and FINAL EXAM
Students will be given the opportunity to do take certification testing for Adobe Premier Pro at the end of the semester. We will take several practice tests before taking the real exams using GMetrix to prep for the tests. We will take these tests during class after learning the material. We take these exams online through a company called Certiport.
If a student does not complete the certification for Illustrator with a score of 700 or more, they will be required to take the teacher made final exam at the end of the semester. This will count as 20% of the students Final Grade.
CELL PHONES AND HEADPHONES
Cell phones and smart phones are a distraction to learning and productivity in class, students will be given 1 warning if they are caught using their phones during class time without prior approval. Students are excepted to immediately put away electronic devices when instructed without delay. After the first warning, the cell phone will be taken and returned at the end of class. If the problem persists, it will be taken for the day and turned into the office in which your parent will have to pick the device up. After that administration will determine punishment. Devices used in class without teacher permission will be confiscated and must be picked up by parents in the main office. A student’s refusal to turn over an electronic device may result in suspension. Parents who call or text their student during class time put them at risk for disciplinary consequences.
Headphones may only be used in class for lesson related activities when the teacher gives permission. Headphones are not to be worn into the classroom.
EQUIPMENT
Students are asked while using any CTE equipment while in the classroom care and respect. In the event that a piece of equipment/technology is damaged due to a student being harmful or careless, that student could be responsible for the financial burden of its repair or replacement.
MAKE-UP WORK/LATE WORK POLICY
Late Work due to an excused absence will follow the WCPSS make up work policy: Assignments assigned prior to an absence will be due upon return; this includes tests scheduled for the day of the return.
If the make-up work has not be assigned in advanced, for absences of 1 to 3 days, the student will have a minimum of 1 day for each absence to complete missed assignments. For absences exceeding 3 days, the student will have a minimum of 2 days for each absence to complete assignments. Students will receive full credit for all make-up work following an excused or unexcused absence as long as the work is completed within the time limit according to teacher expectations and for unexcused absences as long as remediation has been attended to complete the assignment. Special consideration should be given in the case of extended absences due to injury or chronic illness.
HONORS LATE WORK POLICY
All students receiving honors credit for a course have the opportunity to recover grades through completing alternative assignments to demonstrate mastery, turning in missing work, and/or completing retest. Students will earn a maximum of 60% of the grade they would have received if turned in on time.
