Hello!
This week: This week we learned a new tool called the shaper tool that is really helpful, and then how to modify graphics with a lot of fun tools that let you change and warp images. And now that they know how to use so many tools in Adobe Illustrator, we got creative, sketching our Emoji challenge ideas first, which we reviewed in class together, then they used Illustrator to draw their plans and we did feedback on their designs so far. These are due Monday! Being creative isn’t easy so we will keep practicing and working on this for the rest of the semester. Emoji Challenge: Due on Monday Coming up next week: Next week we will be finishing up in Adobe Illustrator learning to use the Blend tool, how to do clipping masks, how to make symbols and adjust text, and we will be finishing the week creating a landscape project using all the skills and tools we have learned. Reminder that Monday is a Teacher Workday! Great day for students to catch up on life, take a break, sleep in, etc…. Parent Site: www.scaleswhs.weebly.com for more! We will explore more about drawing in Illustrator, how to use colors and swatches, cover some notes about Illustrator, and finish with a fun activity to recolor a drawing I will give them to adjust. Grades and PowerSchool Grades are continuing to be added regularly, but grades are starting to take me longer to finish as the work is becoming more feedback driven, I am leaving more and move voice notes to the students to help them. Hope these are helping!! If students have missing work you and they will see a 0 and a orange Missing indicator. I am reminding them about due dates every day in class but strongly suggest students check the Google Classroom Calendar as well to help keep track of due. If your student is struggling with how to get files turned in, please let me know so I can help. Other symbols you may see is a blue dot for incomplete, a green dot if they were absent, and a red dot if the assignment was submitted late. Parent Site: www.scaleswhs.weebly.com for more! Hello!
We had a great week this week and I have really enjoyed getting to know your students! This is a small class so it's letting me have more time with each one of them which is letting me get to know them better! This week: This week we have spent time this week getting used to online learning and we discussed History and Evolution of Graphic Design! Due: Discussing Question and Comments by Monday morning before class Due: History and Evolution of Graphic Design Timeline due Monday at the end of the day Coming up next week: Reminder: Class will now start at 8:15am from now on! We will be learning all about Elements and Principles of Design using Notes and a fillable study guide, we are going to be creating an infographic summarizing what they have learned, we are going to read a great article about inspirational design and review the article in class with a class discussion, and then we are going to end the week learning about Copyright, Fair use, and Trademarks with vocabulary and an activity about arguing whether something is copyright protect or not. Adobe Creative Cloud: Next week I am going to ask the students to try to download the Adobe Creative Cloud software along with at least Adobe illustrator to start. Later they will also need Photoshop and InDesign. I have attached the directions on how to install the software. This can be installed on up to 2 computers but NOT on a Chromebook. Most students should already have access, if students don't, I will have as survey they will fill out to let me know if they were successful or not next Friday, Aug 28th. For those that have a 7-day trial option only, I will have to send their WakeIDs to Tech Services to get their Adobe Accounts activated.
